Annual Halloween party with classic retro horror games, drinks and costumes at the retro gaming arcade.
R-CADE is doing its annual Halloween party on Saturday 31 October, and this year's theme is Vampire Night. It runs from 7pm to 10pm at 121 Saltmarket in the city centre, and it's strictly over-18s. The ticket is £10 and covers three hours of arcade access, Halloween games and a costume competition.
If you haven't been, R-CADE is a retro gaming arcade in Glasgow's East End, built for gamers of all ages. The cabinets house home consoles from the last 50 years — Atari and Binatone, Nintendo, Sega, PlayStation and Xbox — and the cafe has more than 300 board games to play throughout the day, with pre-booked arcade passes. Vampire Night is the adults-only side of the Halloween celebrations: a night of video games, board games, costumes and vampire-themed arcade games, with vampire movies playing in the cafe.
They're encouraging everyone to turn up as their favourite vampire from movies, TV and pop culture, with prizes for the best dressed. The cafe stays open to the public with hot and cold food, drinks and sweet treats, and BYOB is allowed. If you've got younger ones in the house, there's a separate R-CADE Kids Halloween Party on the same day for children aged 8 and up.
