R-CADE Boardgames Social

R-CADE's Boardgames Social runs every Friday evening from 7pm to 10pm, from 14 August to 27 November 2026. It's a weekly meetup for anyone to join in, learn new games and make new friends, and it's open to all ages.

The format is straightforward: the staff pick two titles from the catalogue for everyone to learn and play across the evening. If you're new, you can either join in at the big cafe table or pick another game to play with others or on your own. The venue's cafe has more than 300 boardgames to choose from, and you can play them all day alongside hot drinks, snacks and food.

It's worth knowing a bit about the space. R-CADE is a fully inclusive venue for gamers of all ages, sitting on the edge of Glasgow's East End, a short walk from the city centre and close to Glasgow Green. Its custom-built arcade cabinets house home consoles from the last 50 years, from Atari and Nintendo to Sega, PlayStation and Xbox. The room is family-friendly from 12pm to 7pm and over-18s from 7pm to 10pm, so the Boardgames Social falls into the later slot.
