The grime duo Pete & Bas live at SWG3, with support from Kryptik + Friends.
Pete & Bas play SWG3 Warehouse on Thursday 15 October, with support from Kryptik + Friends. If you've never come across them, they're a grime duo in their seventies, and the whole thing started in a way that's hard to beat: they first took up grime after hearing Pete's granddaughter playing it in her car. From there, their quirky, on-the-nose, stereotype-squashing style caught the attention of millions, and they've since become something of a British music phenomenon.
Their lyrics focus on life on gritty estates and the day-to-day struggles that come with it, and it's that groundedness that resonates with so many disenchanted youths across Britain. They've been together since 2017, and the live show is open to over-14s, with under-16s needing an adult aged 18 or over. One adult can accompany a maximum of two under-16s, so it's an easy one to bring along a younger sibling or a teen friend if that's your crowd. For those who need it, accessible viewing platforms, wheelchair spaces and free companion tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
