Intimate guitar show by Newton Faulkner in the Recital Room at City Halls, part of Celtic Connections and the 'A Few Little Rooms' series.
Newton Faulkner plays the Recital Room at City Halls on Saturday 23 January 2027, as part of Celtic Connections. The show is one of several in the 'A Few Little Rooms' series, which marks twenty years since the release of his 2007 debut album, Hand Built by Robots.
That debut was where it all started. Faulkner first stepped into the spotlight that year with the breakthrough single 'Dream Catch Me' and a double-platinum record, and he's released seven more studio albums since. He scored a second UK number one with Write It on Your Skin, sold over two million records, and played Glastonbury thirteen times. These gigs bring him back to the intimate room setting where it all began: stripped-back performances in rooms where every note can be heard, mixing new music with old favourites and the guitar that has defined his career.
It's a solo bill, so it's just Faulkner on stage. The set pulls from across his discography, with newer material sitting alongside the songs that made him known. The guitar is the constant throughout, and the small room means you'll hear it properly. He signs after the show, so if you've got something you want signed, bring it along.
