A London-based singer-songwriter blending British folk and Americana, performing as part of the Celtic Connections 2027 festival.
Minna plays the City Halls Recital Room on Friday 15 January, as part of Celtic Connections 2027. She's a London-based singer-songwriter who calls her style 'adventure-folk', sitting somewhere between British folk and Americana. Originally from the Scottish Borders, she writes all her songs on the road and builds them around big adventures, with lyrics drawing on the places that inspired them: the back porch of a wolf sanctuary in Colorado, the long road from the mountains of eastern Spain to the western Spanish sea, and her time walking the Camino de Santiago. Her records and her shows are framed as being about going somewhere and coming back changed.
Her live shows are described as loose, warm and a little ramshackle, built on close harmonies, big old choruses and the stories behind the songs told between numbers. Billed as one of the most compelling emerging voices in the UK country-folk scene, she's performing under the title Minna and Support.
