An intimate new production where Marti Pellow blends music with conversation, sharing stories, reflections and songs in the setting of Glasgow's Citizens Theatre.
Marti Pellow is coming to the Citizens Theatre for a run from 31 May to 5 June 2027. The show is called The Voice in the Room, and it's a new production that mixes music with conversation, with Pellow sharing stories, reflections and songs from the stage. He describes it as warm, funny and deeply personal, and says it's a chance to get to know the man behind the music — the story of an ordinary man who lives an extraordinary life. He's promised that audiences will know him a little better by the end.
Most of us know him as a singer, but he's a multi-award-winning songwriter, actor and musical theatre star too. His career started with Wet Wet Wet, one of the most successful and acclaimed bands in British pop history, and his solo work has gone multi-platinum. Since then he's taken the West End and Broadway by storm with Chicago, Blood Brothers, The Witches of Eastwick, Jekyll and Hyde and The War of the Worlds, as well as the film Chess In Concert. This run brings all that back to Glasgow, with the singing and the storytelling sitting side by side.
