Comedy hip-hop and garage collective Kurupt FM headline SWG3 as part of their UK tour.
Kurupt FM play SWG3 on Thursday 3 December, one date on a six-night UK tour that takes in Leicester, Brighton, Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham and London. If you're not familiar with them, they're a fictional UK garage collective and pirate radio station from Brentford, West London, fronted by a crew of over-confident MCs and DJs. The whole thing started as DIY YouTube webisodes made by a group of friends and grew into a British comedy institution, eventually inspiring the BAFTA-winning BBC mockumentary People Just Do Nothing, which ran for five series between 2014 and 2018 and picked up a BAFTA and a Royal Television Society Award for Best Scripted Comedy in 2017.
Beyond the screen, the crew has drawn support from artists and celebrities including Ed Sheeran, Craig David, Big Narstie and David Hasselhoff, released The Lost Tape through XL Recordings and played major festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds and Boomtown. The Glasgow show is one of six dates on the tour, so it's a good chance to catch them in the city if you've followed the project from the webisodes or the BBC series.
