Jalen Ngonda performs live at the Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow, with support from Brooke Combe.
Jalen Ngonda plays the Barrowland Ballroom on Monday 2 November, with support from Brooke Combe. It's part of his UK tour, and the Glasgow date is a 14+ show, with under-16s admitted only with an adult.
Ngonda is a Londoner who's carved out a name for himself on the soul scene. He's now signed to Daptone Records, the Brooklyn label known for its deep commitment to the classic soul sound, and has put out two widely revered singles. He's currently preparing his debut LP, Come Around and Love Me, so this tour comes at a time when he's moving from singles into a full-length record.
He's built a reputation as a live performer, and the description that follows him around is that he's one of the most captivating on today's soul scene, with a voice that balances raw feeling and elegance in equal measure and exudes confidence and charm. He's not a complete stranger to the stage, either: he recently toured the US as a solo support for Thee Sacred Souls, a run that earned him rave reviews and gave him a chance to hold a room on his own before this UK tour.
