Morag Fullarton's theatre production, a comedy reimagining of the Christmas classic, returns to Oran Mor.
Morag Fullarton brings It's A Wonderful Life...Mostly back to Òran Mór on 30 December, a comedy reimagining of the Christmas classic inspired by Frank Capra's iconic film. It's a return for the production, which played to sell-out crowds last Christmas, so if you missed it then, this is your second chance.
Fullarton takes the familiar story and puts her own spin on it, blending sharp comedy with genuine warmth and a good bit of stagecraft. It's not a beat-for-beat remake, but a fresh take that keeps the spirit of the original while finding its own voice. The production is rounded out by Hilary Brooks' original score, Fraser Lappin's design and Ian West's choreography, so there's a fair bit more to it than just the script.
Fullarton directs, and she's well-known around here for Doris, Dolly & The Dressing Room Divas, Casablanca: The Gin Joint Cut and A Bottle of Wine & Patsy Cline. On stage, she's joined by Chris Forbes, Kevin Lennon, Simon Donaldson and Rosie Graham. The show earned five stars from The Herald during its run, which should give you a fair idea of where it lands.
