Danish post-punk rock group Iceage play Room 2 following their new album For Love of Grace & the Hereafter.
Iceage play Room 2 on Sunday 21 February, their Glasgow date following the release of their new album, For Love of Grace & the Hereafter. The show was originally billed for Nice N Sleazy, so if you'd been keeping an eye on that one, just make sure you've got the right room in mind.
They're a punk rock band from Copenhagen, and by the time this one rolls around, their discography will span five studio albums across more than 18 years of work. It's a fair stretch of time to have been at it, and For Love of Grace & the Hereafter is the latest addition to that run.
Pitchfork Media described their sound as a punk-rock sweet spot that mixes the black atmosphere of goth, the wild-limbed whoosh of hardcore and the clangor of post-punk, held together by an energy the magazine called their most important intangible. The band has spent much of its career working inside the idea of collapse, treating that collapse — or the thrill of being close to it — as a way of playing, singing and writing. It's a good way to get a handle on what they do, and it's the kind of thing that comes through when they're playing live.
