Brooklyn lo-fi folk artist Hudson Freeman returns for a headline show at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut as part of his 2027 EU/UK tour.
Hudson Freeman returns to King Tut's Wah Wah Hut on Monday 1 March, his first headline show at the venue since his last run through Glasgow. He's touring the UK and Europe throughout 2027, and this is one of the dates on that circuit.
Freeman is a Brooklyn-based lo-fi folk artist, and the lo-fi part of that description is where the story starts. He was born in Waxahachie, Texas, to Evangelical missionaries, and began writing songs at thirteen after his family moved from the Dallas suburbs to the Kingdom of Eswatini. Those early years set the tone: a songwriter coming up in a household defined by faith and a life spent moving between very different places. By the time he reached college in Springfield, Missouri, he'd settled into the do-it-yourself midwestern approach to recording and performing, with Sufjan Stevens and Bon Iver as the indie acts that left the clearest mark on his sound.
After graduating, he waited out the pandemic before moving to Brooklyn, where his career really took off. The move to New York shifted him from a midwestern DIY project into a professional touring artist, and the Glasgow date is part of the 2027 EU/UK tour that follows. It's a headline show, so he'll be the only name on the bill that night.
