A Hogmanay comedy show featuring Jay Lafferty, Stuart McPherson, Mark Nelson and a guest comedian, with food and an after party.
The Glee Club Glasgow is doing a Hogmanay comedy show on Thursday 31 December, so if you're in the city for New Year's Eve and fancy a night of stand-up before the bells, this is one way to spend it. It's a proper New Year's Eve gig, and the club is keeping the party going with an after-party on the night, so you can stay on after the show rather than heading straight home.
The line-up is set with Jay Lafferty, Stuart McPherson, and Mark Nelson, with a fourth comic still to be announced. That's three names on the bill already, and the fourth will be added later, so there's a full night of stand-up to get through. It's a mix of acts rather than a single headliner, and the Glee is a dedicated comedy club, so the whole room is built around the stage.
Doors open at 7:30pm, and the last entry is 8:00pm, so you've got a decent window to get in and settled before things kick off. The club is at 11 Renfrew Street in the city centre, which makes it easy to get to if you're already around town for the Hogmanay celebrations. If you're coming from further out, it's right in the heart of things, so you're not far from the rest of the city's New Year's Eve action.

Tickets are £18 for the earlybird price, rising to £24, with a £2 booking fee per ticket on top. The earlybird is the cheaper option, so if you know you're going, it's worth getting your tickets in sooner rather than later. Between the show and the after-party, it's a full evening's plan in one place, and with the Glee being a comedy club, the focus stays on the stand-up.
