Dublin indie rock band Gurriers headline SWG3 TV Studio, combining punk and shoegaze on their Nobody Is Coming To Save You Tour, with support from Tramhaus.
Gurriers are playing the SWG3 TV Studio on Wednesday 14 October, as part of their Nobody Is Coming To Save You Tour. They're a Dublin indie rock quintet that came up in the early 2020s, and the sound they've built since then is a raucous, urgent blend of punk and shoegaze. It's a combination that puts the driving energy of punk alongside the wall of sound and textured noise of shoegaze, so it's a loud, full-band set rather than something you'll hear sitting down.
There's a bit more to it than just the noise, too. Their songs carry biting social and political commentary, delivered through lyrics that sit somewhere between sung and spoken. It's a half-sung, half-spoken style that lets the words land clearly even over the louder moments, so the political side of things doesn't get lost in the mix. The tour title, Nobody Is Coming To Save You, fits that mood well enough.
The night is for ages 14 and over, with under-16s needing to be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over; one adult can take up to two under-16s. The show is in the TV Studio on the ground floor, which has its own bar and an accessible viewing platform with wheelchair spaces. Free companion tickets are available through Ticketmaster for those who need them.
