Rising pop artist Grace Gachot headlines The Poetry Club at SWG3, with support from Alex Apolline.
Grace Gachot headlines The Poetry Club at SWG3 on Saturday 17 October, with Alex Apolline on support. It's part of her first headline tour, so it's a full night of her own material rather than a support slot.
If you haven't come across her yet, Gachot is a London-based singer-songwriter who describes her sound as 'fairytale pop' mixed with raw, relatable storytelling. She writes in both English and Spanish, a bilingual approach that helped her build a global audience early on. The pop side of things is where she's made her biggest mark so far: her breakout track 'Built to Be Bad' has passed 13 million streams, and Radio 1's Jack Saunders called it 'stunning pop perfection'. 'The Boy Who Can't Be Named', 'Flatlining' and 'Naked' have pushed her to more than half a million monthly listeners on Spotify.
There's a bit of a theatrical streak running through it all, too. Her interest in music started with musical theatre and pop, and as a teenager she spent her time playing local gigs before catching the attention of a producer at 16. That led her to move to London to work with other musicians and develop her songwriting. She talks about wanting to spread kindness and self-empowerment through her songs, and this tour is her first time stepping out from supporting others to lead the bill herself. Before this, she's shared stages with Kylie Minogue, Mimi Webb and Henry Moodie.
