Dublin post-punk and noise-rock quartet Gilla Band on tour following the release of their new album 'Pugnello'.
Gilla Band play The Classic Grand on Saturday 13 February 2027, as part of a world tour that runs through 2026 and 2027. It's their first Glasgow date in a while, and they're touring behind new music they've put out after nearly four years of silence.
If you've followed them, you'll know the run-up to this. The Dublin quartet — vocalist Dara Kiely, guitarist Alan Duggan, bassist Daniel Fox and drummer Adam Faulkner — have been around since 2011 and built a name for trading standard indie melodies for industrial noise, abrasive percussion and fractured, surreal lyrics. They've always sat somewhere hard to pin down, not quite post-punk and not quite noise-rock, but a singular style they've made their own. That sound has rubbed off on a new wave of forward-thinking guitar bands over the last decade.
They've put out three acclaimed albums: Holding Hands with Jamie in 2015, The Talkies in 2019 and Most Normal in 2022. After that, the band went on a brief release hiatus, which they broke in May 2026 with the electronic-tinged single 'Giraffe' via Rough Trade Records. That single came with the announcement of this massive world tour, and they've since released a new album, Pugnello, which you can get as a limited edition pearl flip vinyl alongside limited edition t-shirts and hoodies.
