Scottish indie new-wave band Friends Again headline the Barrowland Ballroom with their 80s guitar-pop, marking their reunion tour.
Friends Again headline The Glasgow Barrowland Ballroom on Wednesday 16 December, part of a series of UK shows they're playing in 2026. It's their first proper run of dates since the band split in 1984, and the Glasgow show is one of the few times they'll be out on the road this year.
If the name doesn't ring a bell, it's because they've been quiet for a long time. The Scottish new-wave band called it a day over forty years ago, just before they were due to appear on The Tube, so this is the first time they've toured since then. The reunion started in January with a sold-out show at the Old Fruitmarket as part of the Celtic Connections festival, and this Barrowlands date is one of the follow-up shows they've put together for the rest of the year.
On stage, it's the original line-up back together: Chris Thomson, James Grant and Paul McGeechan. They're bringing their 80s guitar-pop to the stage, the same sophisticated sound they were known for back when they first came up. With the original three back in the room, it's the band as it was, rather than a version with new members filling the gaps.
