A lunchtime concert series at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland featuring guest artists, chamber ensembles, soloists and orchestras.
Fridays at One is back at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on Friday 16 October, the lunchtime concert series that's become a bit of a city staple. It runs from 1pm to 2pm, usually around an hour of music, and it's billed as a musical start to the weekend. The line-up changes every week, pulling from international guest artists, chamber ensembles, soloists and orchestras, so you'll get a different sound each time you drop in.
It's one of two regular slots the Conservatoire runs during the week. The other is Mondays at One, which pairs students and staff across different instruments and genres. Both series have a subscription option: a smART Pass that lets you guarantee the same seat for every Friday or Monday concert and saves you 20% on the ticket price. The whole thing also links into the wider RCS calendar, with some sessions tying into events like Big Guitar Weekend.

Because it's a lunchtime slot, it works well if you're in the city centre during the working day and fancy a break. The Conservatoire is at 100 Renfrew Street, right in Glasgow City Centre, and the concert starts at 1pm, so you're out by 2pm and back to your day. Tickets are between £5 and £15.
