A book launch and live music tribute to the legacy of Frankie Miller, featuring Stevie Agnew and the Souled Out Band.
Ivory Blacks is hosting a book launch and music evening for Frankie Miller on Sunday 22 November, from 7:30pm to 10:30pm. It's a double book release: Long Way Home: The Frankie Miller Story, written by lifelong friend and fanzine curator Davy Arthur, and the hardcover photobook Incarcerated Ecstasy, which focuses on Miller's 1975 concert for the prisoners at San Quentin Prison and his time in the USA. Arthur's book is described as the first comprehensive biography dedicated to Miller's life, career and resilience.
On the music side, Stevie Agnew and the Souled Out Band will be joined by an eight-piece band. They're expected to play a full show of Miller's songs, including the tracks from the Rock album, which the organisers say has never been performed in its entirety before, plus a few surprises. The Glasgow date is part of a three-show run, and this night is staged bigger than the one-night celebration held in Edinburgh the previous year.
