Progressive rock double header with Damanek and Overhead, the acts' only Scottish date on their UK co-headline tour of July 2027.
Damanek and Overhead play Ivory Blacks on Wednesday 14 July, a double bill presented by Béla Alabástrom. It's their only Scottish date of a four-stop UK co-headline tour that runs through July 2027, with the other three shows in Sheffield, Abingdon and Southampton.
Damanek is an international progressive rock collective formed in 2016, bringing together three musicians from the UK, Australia and Germany. They're known for sophisticated songwriting and albums that blend rock with jazz-fusion, folk, cinematic soundscapes and socially conscious storytelling. On the night, they'll be showcasing material from their forthcoming album, Goes Forth.
Overhead are one of the most distinctive and enduring acts of the Finnish progressive rock scene. They formed in 1999 and signed to the French label Musea, which put out a trilogy of albums: Zumanthum (2002), Metaepitome (2005) and And We're Not Here After All (2008), followed by Of Sun and Moon (2012) and Haydenspark (2018). They hit their 20-year mark in 2019 and became the first Finnish band to play Night of the Prog at the Loreley amphitheatre in Germany. In 2023 they released the double album Telepathic Minds, which many hailed as the year's best.
