Cat Power performs her 2006 album 'The Greatest' in its entirety as part of its 20th anniversary live tour.
Cat Power plays The Glasgow Barrowland Ballroom on Thursday 5 November, as part of a European tour marking the 20th anniversary of The Greatest. The album came out in 2006, and for this run of shows, she's performing it in its entirety.
It's a long tour. The anniversary dates kicked off on 12 February 2026 at White Oak Music Hall in Houston, Texas, and have since worked their way through North America, Europe and the UK, with the Glasgow date landing in early November. The Barrowlands show is one of the final stops in that run.
The venue itself is an east-end landmark. Built in 1934 as a ballroom, it's still an Art Deco gem with its curved facade and neon lighting. Over the years it's hosted R.E.M., Oasis, The Cure, The Smiths, U2, Blur, Bob Dylan, Bjƶrk, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Metallica, Green Day, Arctic Monkeys and Travis.
