An intimate acoustic tribute to the music of Elvis Presley performed under candlelight in the historic Merchants House of Glasgow.
Candlelight: Tribute to Elvis Presley comes to The Merchants House of Glasgow on Saturday 28 November, with the music of Elvis Presley performed under the glow of candlelight. It's an acoustic show carried by musicians and vocalists in an intimate setting rather than a full band production, and it isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Elvis Presley, his estate or official representatives.
The setlist pulls from across his career. You'll hear the early rock and roll of Jailhouse Rock, Hound Dog, Blue Suede Shoes and Teddy Bear, alongside the slower, melodic side of Love Me Tender, The Wonder Of You and Can't Help Falling in Love. The mid-career hits are there too: Burning Love, A Big Hunk O' Love, Devil in Disguise, Viva Las Vegas and Surrender. And the later years are covered with Always on My Mind, Suspicious Minds and Blue Christmas.
The venue is part of the draw here. The Merchants House of Glasgow is a historic room known for its Victorian architecture and maritime heritage, and it's right in the city centre at 7 West George Street. The performance runs about 60 to 90 minutes, seating is usually unreserved and the show is family-friendly.
