Blue Bendy headline Nice N Sleazy to celebrate their latest album One Day This Will All Be Lore!
Blue Bendy play Nice N Sleazy on Thursday 18 March, headlining the Glasgow date to celebrate their second album, One Day This Will All Be Lore.
It's a bit of a comeback story. Their debut, So Medieval (2024), got a lot of love from the big press — Pitchfork, The Guardian, The Independent and NME all had something good to say about it. But the band almost called it quits after that first record. They spent the time since gradually rebuilding themselves to make a follow-up that keeps the same earnest brutality and witty self-deprecation as the original, and is just as full of low and high culture references, internet subculture and the hangdog defiance they built their name on. The difference is in the melodies, which are sweeter, and the music, which they describe as more urgent and intense.
They're based in London and sit across post-punk, art rock, indie pop and post-rock, so the set should pull from a fair few directions. If you've got So Medieval on your shelf, this is the first chance to hear how they've built on it.
