Swiss indie-pop act Anna Erhard headlines Oran Mor with support from Dana Gavanski.
Anna Erhard plays Òran Mór on Thursday 4 March, part of her 1000 Sheep Tour 2027. She's a Swiss singer-songwriter playing what she describes as adventurous indie pop, and the set will be supported by Canadian singer-songwriter Dana Gavanski.
Erhard's songs tend to circle around states of movement — leaving, escape and transformation — and she draws on texts and motifs from her own diary-like recordings. She's based in Berlin, and the tour takes her through the UK, with this Glasgow date falling on a Thursday night. If you've come across her work before, you'll recognise that thread of transition running through the songs; if not, this is a good place to start.
Opening for her is Dana Gavanski, who writes delicate folk songs. Born in Vancouver to a Serbian family, Gavanski moved to Montreal for university and originally planned to pursue film before returning to music when her then ex-partner left her his guitar. It's a small, personal detail that sits well with the kind of folk she writes — quiet, close-up stuff that lets the lyrics do the heavy lifting. Between Erhard's indie pop and Gavanski's folk, the night leans more towards the songwriting side of things than the loud end of the spectrum.
