Stand-up comedy show with Gregor Fisher, a Scottish stage and screen legend, as part of the Glasgow International Comedy Festival.
Gregor Fisher is back at The King's Theatre on Friday 19 March, part of the second leg of his UK tour. He's coming off a completely sold-out and critically acclaimed Edinburgh Festival season, and the Glasgow date falls within the Glasgow International Comedy Festival, which is the festival organising it.
If you're not familiar with the name, you'll know the characters. Fisher is a Scottish stage and screen legend, best known for Rab C Nesbitt, the multi-BAFTA Award-winning BBC2 series that made him a household name. Beyond Rab, he's put together a long list of roles: Naked Video on BBC2, The Baldy Man on ITV, Love Actually, and more recently Only Child on BBC1. This show isn't a character piece, though. It's billed as an evening in conversation, and that's exactly what it is — Fisher on stage telling stories and anecdotes from his life and career.
Critics have described it as 'warm, engaging and incredibly funny', 'funny, candid and full of charm' and 'an excellent evening out'. It's less a stand-up set in the traditional sense and more a long chat with someone who's spent decades in the middle of the Scottish comedy scene. If you've followed his work over the years, it's a chance to hear the stories behind the characters.
