The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland's Traditional Music department, led by Jenn Butterworth, perform a mix of traditional Scottish music and new compositions.
An Evening of Traditional Music comes to the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on Wednesday 11 November, with the RCS Traditional Music department taking the stage. It's a showcase of the department's work, led by Jenn Butterworth, and the programme runs from 7.30pm to 9.15pm.
What you'll hear is a mix of traditional Scottish music and new compositions. The traditional side of the bill draws on the music the department teaches and performs, while the new compositions are written by the students and staff themselves. It's a good way to hear the two sitting side by side in one set, with the older tunes and the newer writing sharing the same stage.
The whole thing is presented by the RCS Traditional Music department, with Jenn Butterworth leading the group. The concert takes place in the Ledger Recital Room, inside the Conservatoire's building at 100 Renfrew Street in Glasgow city centre, G2 3DB.
