A Celtic State of Mind comedy show featuring former Celtic manager Gordon Strachan in an on-stage discussion about his football career, joined by Paul John Dykes.
Gordon Strachan is coming to the Barras Art & Design Centre on Friday 23 October, as part of the A Celtic State of Mind series. It's an on-stage discussion rather than a stand-up set, with Strachan looking back at a career that spans playing and managing across Scotland and England.
Most of the conversation will centre on his time at Celtic. He took charge in 2005 and won every domestic honour available to the club, including three league titles in a row, and led them to the Champions League last 16 on two occasions. He's joined on stage by Paul John Dykes, who'll be the one guiding the discussion through those years.
Before the Celtic job, his playing career took him through some of the biggest clubs in the UK. He picked up domestic and European honours at Aberdeen, then moved south to win silverware with Manchester United and Leeds before turning to management. The night is built around that whole arc, so it's as much about the early days in the North East and the English leagues as it is about the Glasgow years.
