Free evening of songs and storytelling by Adam Holmes & Lauren Jackson and Lee McGilvray's folk project Flew the Arrow, part of Celtic Connections 2027.
Adam Holmes & Lauren Jackson play Drygate Brewing Co. on Thursday 21 January, part of Celtic Connections 2027. They're sharing the bill with Flew the Arrow, so it's a double bill of folk and storytelling in the East End.
Holmes and Jackson bring an evening of heartfelt songs and close musical connection, with warm, expressive vocals and rich harmonies. Holmes is widely recognised for his intimate live performances and deeply human songwriting, with an acclaimed voice at the centre of his shows, while Jackson's contributions add texture, warmth and a natural sense of musical conversation. It's a set that leans as much on the stories as the songs.
Flew the Arrow is the project of Lee McGilvray, a folk singer, guitarist and songwriter from the heart of Burns Country in south west Scotland. He's also the creator and curator of Glasgow's award-winning folk club Gathering South Sessions. His set is rooted in Scottish folk song, balladry and storytelling, pairing original songs full of hope, resilience and light with fresh interpretations of traditional favourites, delivered with acoustic guitar and gentle Ayrshire textures.
