Big Hogmanay ceilidh with traditional Scottish dancing and the HotScotch Ceilidh Band at Assembly Roxy, with dancing into the early hours of New Year.
Laldie Ceilidhs are taking over Assembly Roxy on Thursday 31 December for an XL Hogmanay ceilidh, with the HotScotch Ceilidh Band on the music. It's billed as a big one for the biggest night of the year, and the dancing runs right through the Hogmanay Bells and into the early hours of the New Year, so you can dance your way from one year into the next.
If you've never done a ceilidh, there's no need to worry about knowing the steps. Laldie Ceilidhs are run by dancers themselves, and they keep things accessible: the band calls the dances and walks the room through the steps, so you can pick it up on the fly. Beginners end up dancing alongside seasoned ceilidh-goers, and you don't need any prior experience to join in.
HotScotch is an experienced Edinburgh-based band known for bringing energy and musicianship to weddings, parties and corporate events across Scotland, and they'll be the ones driving the night. The event is part of the Laldie Ceilidhs collection, which focuses on authentic, fun traditional Scottish dancing that anyone can get into.
