World of Wine - The Americas

World of Wine - The Americas is at the Novotel Edinburgh Centre on Wednesday 28 October, a tasting session that takes you from the north to the south of the Americas with wine along the way. It's billed as 'an evening of American showstoppers', so the focus is on the standout bottles from across the New World rather than a deep dive into one specific region.

The evening is run by Edinburgh Local Wine School, an Edinburgh wine education and events company that stages regular tastings, courses and food-and-wine experiences. They're a leading provider of WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) courses, so if you've ever wanted to get a proper qualification in wine, they're a good place to start. The school is part of the Local Wine School Network, which they describe as the world's fastest-growing network of independent wine schools, and they've been serving the city's wine-tasting needs for over a decade.

The venue is the Novotel Edinburgh Centre, a contemporary hotel a stone's throw from Edinburgh Castle. It's got an indoor heated pool, whirlpool, sauna, fitness room and business centre, but the tasting itself is held in a bright, private dining area at the side of the building, close to Haymarket and Waverley stations, so it's easy to get to whether you're coming from the city centre or from a bit further out. The session starts at 7:00pm, and tickets are £37.00.
