Wine tasting led by Master of Wine Mark O'Bryen featuring Western Australian wines made by or under the direction of Larry Cherubino.
Western Australian Wines is coming to the Scottish Arts Club on Tuesday 3 November, a tasting that puts the winemakers of Western Australia centre stage. It's led by Mark O'Bryen, a Master of Wine and lately of Hatch Mansfield Wine Wholesalers, who'll walk you through a selection of wines made by or under the direction of Larry Cherubino of the Hatch Mansfield stable.
Cherubino is the common thread throughout the evening. Some of the bottles bear his own name, while others he makes for other producers both within Western Australia and further afield, all of them retaining his signature Western Australian influence. The tasting plays on the idea of the state's wines being in style, if not always in geography, so you'll be tasting a range of labels that all trace back to the same hand.
It's a good way to get a proper look at a single winemaker's approach across different labels and regions. O'Bryen will be there to talk through the selection, so you'll get the context behind each bottle as you go. If you've ever wondered how one person's influence can run through a whole stable of wines, this is a chance to hear it first-hand.
