Workshop run by Leith Jewellery Studios to design and carve your own ring from jeweller's wax.
Leith Jewellery Studios are running a wax ring carving workshop at Out Of The Blue Drill Hall on Saturday 7 November, from 10:30am to 5:00pm. It's a full day of making, and you'll come away with a ring you've designed and carved yourself.
The session is all about working with jeweller's wax. You'll start by designing your own ring and carving it out of the wax, and from there you'll learn how to add texture, smooth down surfaces and refine the overall shape. There's also a bit on building up the wax to mimic granulation and other decorative effects, and you'll be shown how to prepare the finished model for casting. It's a proper introduction to the process, taking you from a rough idea to a model ready for the foundry.
The workshop is part of a rolling programme of sessions running between 31 October 2026 and 20 February 2027, so if this date doesn't quite fit, there are others to look out for. It's run by Leith Jewellery Studios, who bring the expertise and the tools to the table.
