Club night at Potterrow where attendees use green, amber and red cups to signal their relationship status for the night.
Potterrow is hosting a Traffic Light Party on Saturday 7 November, from 10:30pm until 3:00am. It's a club night in Edinburgh that works on a colour-coded social system, so you'll want to know how it works before you head in.
The whole thing is built around three colours. Green means you're single and ready to mingle; amber is for those complicated situations that don't fit neatly into one box; and red is for when you're taken or just there for the party. When you arrive, you pick the cup that suits you, and from there you can spot people on your own wavelength across the room. It's a straightforward way of letting everyone know where they stand without having to say a word, and Potterrow itself turns red, amber and green for the night to match.
Because the colours do the heavy lifting, it's a night that works as well if you're looking to meet someone as it does if you're just out with friends and want to keep things simple. You pick your colour, find your crowd, and go from there.
