Free tasting of Tormore, the single malt from the Speyside distillery known as the 'Pearl of Speyside', at Seamus's Pub.
Seamus's Pub is hosting a free Tormore whisky tasting on Monday 7 December, from 7 pm to 8 pm. It's a single-distillery session, so the whole hour is built around one name rather than a flight of different brands. The whisky comes from Tormore, a Speyside distillery built in 1959 among the Cromdale Hills, which has earned the nickname 'the Pearl of Speyside'.
For more than sixty years, much of Tormore's whisky was used quietly in some of Scotland's best-loved blends, rather than bottled under its own name. That classic single malt style is now being brought back to the foreground, and this tasting is one of the ways you can get a proper look at it. The tasting notes describe it as fruity and elegant, with orchard fruit, juicy peach and pear alongside layers of nutty richness and gentle oak. If you're into Speyside malts, that's exactly the kind of profile you'll be working through over the course of the evening.

It's a short session — just an hour — and it's free to attend, so it works as a low-stakes way to try a distillery that spent most of its life behind the scenes. The tasting is for over-18s only, so you'll need to be of age to get a glass. You can find the pub at 15 Brougham Place, Edinburgh EH3 9JX, and the tasting runs from 7 pm to 8 pm on Monday 7 December.
