First-ever Whisky Stories Whisky Festival in Edinburgh, with a dozen exhibitors and masterclasses for over-18s.
The Whisky Stories Whisky Festival comes to The Merchants Hall on Friday 20 November, the first time the festival has been held in Edinburgh. It's being put on by WhiskyBoxEvents, and the whole evening is built around a specific occasion: the brand's third birthday. So, if you've followed them since they started, this is the party they're throwing to mark it.
Inside the hall, there'll be a dozen exhibitors with their own drams to pour, and masterclasses running throughout the night. The masterclasses are where you can actually sit in and hear the stories behind the bottles, rather than just working your way around the room. Between those, you've got the exhibitors to visit at your own pace, so you can spend as much or as little time as you like on any one stand.
One thing to keep in mind is the scale of it. The room is capped at just 100 tickets, which keeps the numbers low enough that you're not fighting through a crowd to get to the next bottle. It's a small enough gathering that you'll likely spend more time talking to the people behind the pours than you would at a larger event. And because it's an over-18s night, it's strictly for adults.
