Tarot & Tipples returns to Malones Leith on Thursday 29 October, from 5.30pm to 8.30pm. It's a social tarot night run by Tuesday Moon in conjunction with Portal Leith, and it's built around a simple, slow-paced format: you get a table for the evening, catch up with friends over drinks and dinner, and while you're at it, Jenni of Tuesday Moon works her way around the room to give you a reading.
Jenni is the reader here, and she's well-known for a warm, thoughtful approach. The night is pitched for true believers and total tarot newbies alike, so it works whether you've spent years studying the cards or you've never even seen a deck before. The whole thing is designed as a social evening rather than a formal session, with the reading coming to you while you're already settled in with your group.
The night has a bit of history behind it, too. It started as Mara's original Tarot & Tipples before moving to Malones Leith, and Jenni has returned as the reader for this run. Tickets are £20 per person, and that covers a few things: a welcome drink — beer, wine or soft drink — a ten-minute one-to-one tarot reading from Jenni, and your table for the night. Dinner and extra drinks are available on top of that, so you can make a proper meal of it. It runs from 5.30pm to 8.30pm at Malones Leith, 48-52 Constitution Street, Leith EH6 6RS.
