Indie-folk band The Deep Blue bring their three-part harmony to a live Soundhouse gig at The Traverse.
The Deep Blue play The Traverse on Saturday 28 November, as part of a new run of live gigs from the Soundhouse Organisation. They're an indie-folk band whose sound pairs rebellious lyrics with three-part harmony, and this is their first Edinburgh show since playing the Usher Hall with The Waterboys.
They've been on the move since they first appeared in May 2021, when their debut EP caught the attention of the indie press. Since then, they've completed three UK tours and sold out nine headline shows, including London's Camden Assembly and Manchester's YES Pink Room, and have had airtime on BBC Radio 6. From 2023 they've been playing the summer festival circuit, with sets at Y Not, Tramlines and Truck Festival. Their only previous Edinburgh appearance was with The Waterboys, whom they toured Europe with, opening the shows and singing backing vocals.
This gig is part of a wider return for the Soundhouse Organisation at The Traverse, which is hosting a series of live, in-person nights in the intimate Traverse Bar. The run brings together a range of global jazz, country, traditional and folk acts, so The Deep Blue fit right into that folk-leaning side of things.
