Soundhouse: Jazz Singing with Sophie Bancroft

Sophie Bancroft brings a jazz singing session to the Traverse Theatre on Sunday 29 November, as part of a new series of live gigs and workshops hosted by Soundhouse. It's a morning slot, starting at 11:00, so it's more of a late-breakfast thing than a night out.

Soundhouse is returning to the Traverse with a run of in-person gigs and workshops held in the Traverse Bar, and Bancroft is one of the names they've booked. The whole series is built around live music in that space, and they're pulling from a fair few different traditions — jazz, country, traditional and folk, with acts coming from across the globe. Bancroft's session sits on the jazz end of that mix.

The Traverse Bar is a small, close-quarters room, and that's exactly how these are being set up: live, in-person gigs in an intimate setting. It's a different feel from the main stages, with the music and the audience sharing the same small space. The age guide for the show is 14+.

Tickets are £15, with a £12 concession available. It starts at 11:00 on Sunday 29 November at the Traverse Bar, inside the Traverse Theatre.
