The Gyle Shopping Centre is bringing back its ice rink this winter, with sessions running on Saturday 28 November and Saturday 19 December. It's set up as festive fun for the whole family, so it's as much about taking the kids along as it is about getting back on the ice yourself. If you're planning to go, there are two dates to choose from, and you'll need to book in advance rather than turning up on the day.

Tickets are sold through Skiddle, and the price depends on the slot you pick, with sessions ranging from £7.50 to £20. The rink is located at The Gyle Shopping Centre on Gyle Avenue, EH12 9JY, in the west of Edinburgh, so it's easy to get to by bus or car, and you've got the shops right there if you want to make a full afternoon of it. On Saturday 28 November, doors open at 12:00, and on Saturday 19 December they open an hour earlier at 11:00. Both days run until 21:00, which gives you plenty of room to pick a time that works for your day.

Because it's billed as family-friendly, it's a good shout for a group outing with the younger ones. Just keep in mind that advance booking is required, so you'll want to sort your tickets through Skiddle before you head over.
