Ice skating session at The Gyle Shopping Centre as part of Winter Wonderland Edinburgh, with no age restrictions.
Winter Wonderland Edinburgh is taking over The Gyle Shopping Centre from Friday 27 November, with the ice rink running right through to Sunday 3 January 2027. The skating is the main draw, but it's just one part of a wider festive setup that brings together a few different things in one spot.
Alongside the rink, there's a Christmas market, a festive bar, and a range of festive food and drinks, so it's easy to make a full afternoon or evening of it rather than just popping in for a quick skate. There are also thrilling rides and a fun fair, which means you can move from the ice to the fairground without leaving the site. The whole thing is built around that mix of traditional family favourites and attractions aimed at children, and there are no age restrictions, so it works for a family outing as much as it does for a couple of friends meeting up.

If you're planning around the skating, the rink stays open from 3 pm to 9 pm Monday to Friday, and 12 pm to 9 pm on weekends. On Sunday 3 January, the final day of the run, there's a session from 11 am to 9 pm, so you've got a long window to get on the ice before the whole thing wraps up. The rink is part of the broader Winter Wonderland Edinburgh, which runs from 27 November to 3 January at The Gyle Shopping Centre.
