Hosted singles party for people in their early forties to mid fifties at the New York-inspired bar Manahatta.
Original Dating are hosting a singles party for people in their early forties to mid fifties at Manahatta on Friday 20 November, from 8pm to 10pm. It's a night built for arriving on your own, with the aim of keeping the room full of singles throughout.
If you've done speed dating before, this is a different animal. There's no bell telling you when to move on, and you aren't rushed from one person to the next. A host breaks the ice and gets everyone talking, and from there it's a looser, more social evening where you can spend as long as you like with the people you're actually getting on with. It's less of a conveyor belt and more of a party.
That's not the only thing that carries over into the next day. The night continues through the organisers' matching system, where you can trade details and plan dates with the people you met. So the evening doesn't just end when you leave the bar; it's the start of whatever comes after.

The venue is Manahatta, a New York-inspired bar at 28 Rose St, right in the heart of the city and known for its chic interiors and signature cocktails. It's a short walk from Edinburgh Waverley station, so it's easy to get to whether you're coming from across town or in from further afield. Doors open at 19:30, and the party runs from 8pm to 10pm. Tickets are £20, with a DatePass price of £10 for those who have one.
