A series of practical, hands-on workshops exploring storytelling and folklore at the Scottish Storytelling Centre on the Royal Mile.
The Scottish Storytelling Centre is running a series of storytelling workshops this November, with sessions on the 10th, 14th and 21st. They're practical, hands-on workshops that look at storytelling and folklore, so you'll be doing rather than just listening.
The venue is at 43-45 High Street, right on the Royal Mile, which makes it easy to get to from anywhere in the city centre. It's level-accessible and wheelchair friendly, with accessible toilets including a ground-floor one that has baby-changing facilities, and assistance dogs are welcome. If you're coming with a pram or a wheelchair, that's something worth knowing before you set off.
Because it's a series of sessions rather than a one-off, you can pick the date that works best for you. The focus is on the craft of storytelling and the folklore that sits behind it, and the hands-on approach means you'll be getting stuck in with the material yourself. If you've ever wondered how a story is actually put together, this is a good place to start.
