Scary Girls Halloween Event

Dropkick Murphys is hosting its Scary Girls Halloween Event on Saturday 31 October, running from 5pm through to 3am. It's their big Halloween night, described as a chance to dance with fellow witches, vampires and ghouls, so the costume is a big part of it — they're encouraging everyone to turn up in their most frightening gear for a best-dressed contest.

Throughout the night there's live music and drinks, and the whole thing builds towards a pumpkin drop at midnight. If you're planning to make a proper evening of it, getting in early pays off: entry is free before 9pm, and the party keeps going well into the early hours, so you can start in the afternoon and stay until 3am if you fancy it.

For those who haven't been, Dropkick Murphys is an Irish bar in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town, just off the Grassmarket and overlooking it. They pride themselves on being authentically Irish, with live music and major sports on big screens, so it's a familiar spot for a pint and a match on any other Saturday.
