Queer Halloween pub crawl through central Edinburgh with a gothic edge, costumes encouraged and games along the route.
The Sapphic Pub Crawl returns to Cabaret Voltaire on Friday 23 October, marking its third year running. It's a queer Halloween bar crawl through the centre of Edinburgh with a gothic edge, and this time it kicks off from the Old Town. Costumes are very much encouraged, whatever vibe you're feeling, so there's plenty of room to lean into the Halloween side of things.
It's not just about the drinks, though. There are games planned along the route to help people meet new people, and if you're coming along on your own, there's a group chat available to get you connected before the night even starts. The organisers, That's So Fruity, make it clear that they won't be booking any tables, so you might have to stand in a few of the spots you visit. The whole thing runs for three and a half hours, taking you from bar to bar through the city centre.
It sits right at the intersection of a few different scenes: queer, LGBTQ, goth parties, Halloween, and pub crawl. If you've spent your Octobers in Edinburgh before, you'll know the city takes its Halloween seriously, and this fits right into that. It's as much about the community as it is about the crawl, especially with the games and the group chat in place for anyone arriving solo.
