Santa & Elf Dash

Blast Running are hosting the Santa & Elf Dash at Cammo Estate on Sunday 20 December, from 11am to 2pm. It's a festive outdoor run through the Cammo Nature Reserve in north-west Edinburgh, and you can pick your distance: there's a 10K, a 5K, and a 1K Elf Dash for the younger ones. Festive outfits are encouraged, though they're optional, so you can go full Santa suit or just stick to your usual running gear.

The route takes you across the estate's woodland trails, open grassland and riverside paths, and it's not a flat one — there are narrow paths, steps and small wooden bridges along the way. Because of that, it isn't suitable for buggies, wheelchairs or frame runners. At the finish, everyone gets a medal, a hot chocolate and a cookie.

All proceeds go to charity, with the entry fee for the 1K Elf Dash donated to Young Lives vs Cancer. Advance booking is required, so you'll need to get your spot sorted before the day.

As for the cost, the 10K is £15 for adults and £5 for under 18s; the 5K is £10 for adults and £5 for under 18s; and the 1K Elf Dash is £5. The whole thing runs from 11am to 2pm at Cammo Estate, 37 Cammo Road, Edinburgh West EH4 8AW.
