Night of music by SAMHAIN and Karys at Collective Space, with a night market.
SAMHAIN are playing Collective Space on Friday 30 October, with their Songs of Resistance live session taking centre stage. It's a night that fits the date — Samhain being the traditional Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter — and the title Songs of Resistance gives a fair idea of where the set is coming from.
It's not just the music that's on the bill. Alongside the session, there'll be a night market running, so you can browse a few stalls before the music starts. If you're coming early, it's worth arriving with a bit of time to look around rather than rushing in just as the first note hits.
Karys is on the bill as well, so the music doesn't stop with one act. Between the session and the market, there's enough going on to make a whole evening of it rather than just a quick stop in and out. It's the kind of night that works better if you arrive early and stay late, rather than timing it to the minute.
