Hands-on art workshop for children aged 5 to 10 to explore colour, texture and their imagination.
Panda's Art Club is back at Inch House Community Centre this autumn and winter, with sessions running on 7, 21 and 27 November, and then 5 and 19 December. It's a hands-on art workshop for children aged 5 to 10, so it's geared towards the primary school crowd rather than the tiny ones.
Each session introduces new techniques, and the whole thing is built around letting kids explore colour, texture and their own imagination. It's not about following a strict pattern; the idea is to help them develop their own way of making things while they're at it. Because each class brings something different to the table, it works as a series rather than a one-off.
Running the club is Paulina, a nursery professional with a long background in early childhood education. That experience comes through in how the sessions are set up: they're designed to help children build their talents and make new friends as much as they are about the art itself. It's the kind of thing where the social side—working alongside other kids and chatting while you create—is as much a part of the experience as the painting or drawing.

Sessions run from 2pm to 3pm, and you can either drop in for a single class at £20 or book a monthly block of two for £30, which works out a bit cheaper if you're planning to stick with it. Booking is handled through Instagram, so that's where you'll want to go to get a spot. The venue is Inch House Community Centre, 225 Gilmerton Road, Edinburgh South EH16 5UF.
