Beginner-friendly paint and sip session with a Highland Cow theme, guided by Paintvine artists, at The Counting House.
Paintvine are bringing a Highland Cow paint and sip session to The Counting House on Wednesday 11 November, from 7pm to 9pm. The theme is just that: a Highland Cow, so you'll spend the evening painting one of those shaggy-coated beasts that's become a bit of a Scottish shorthand.
If you've never done a paint and sip before, the format is pretty straightforward. You turn up, get your materials, and follow along as an artist guides you through the process step-by-step. The idea is that you end up with a finished piece of artwork to take home, regardless of whether you've ever picked up a brush. It's built for complete beginners, but it works for experienced painters too, so it's as much about the social side as it is about the painting.
Paintvine is an artist-led experience company that's run more than 80,000 guests across more than 20 cities in the UK, so they've got the logistics down. They provide everything you need: acrylic paints, brushes, an apron to keep your clothes clean, and a stretched canvas. They also take photos throughout the session and share them on their social media, which is handy if you want a record of the night without having to put your phone down. The sessions are held in licensed venues, and The Counting House is one of them, so you can buy drinks from the bar as you go, though they aren't included in the ticket price.
