Free-to-enter day of LEGO building with brick pits, collaborative mosaics and a trading hall with more than 20 LEGO traders.
National Brick Events comes to the Edinburgh Corn Exchange on Sunday 22 November, a full day dedicated to building with LEGO. It's one of those events that works as well for a casual afternoon out as it does for someone who spends their weekends sorting bricks by colour.
The day is built around a few different things. There are massive brick pits where you can just dive in and build your own creations, and MOCs — My Own Creations — on display, which are models built from scratch by talented builders rather than from a kit. There are also interactive collaborative mosaics, where you add your part to a larger picture being built by everyone throughout the day.
For many, the real draw is the trading hall. More than 20 dedicated traders bring along rare and retired LEGO sets and minifigures, so it's a good spot to track down a specific piece you've been after or to see what's out there if you're starting a collection. Between the building areas and the trading, there's plenty to do whether you're there to make something or to hunt for a particular set.
