Free standing meet-the-winemaker tasting session with Delheim Wine Estate's Cellar Master Roelof Lotriet at Cockburns of Leith.
Delheim Wine Estate are coming to Cockburns of Leith on Tuesday 21 October, with Cellar Master Roelof Lotriet leading a tasting session from 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm. It's a free event, so you can drop in without spending a penny.
Delheim is a family-run winery in Stellenbosch, South Africa, and they work with the grapes the country is most famous for: white Chenin Blanc and red Pinotage. During the session, Lotriet will walk you through a selection of the estate's wines and talk through the processes involved in producing some of the best wine South Africa has to offer. It's a good chance to hear from the person actually making the wine, rather than just reading a label.
The tasting is hosted at Cockburns of Leith, the oldest wine merchant in Scotland, founded in 1796. They stock fine wines and spirits and run regular sample tastings, and they were named best wine shop in Scotland at the 2023 Decanters Retail Awards. You'll find them at 48a Frederick Street, EH2 1EX.

Just a couple of practical things to keep in mind: the session is for over-18s only, and it's a standing event, so there aren't seats to settle into. It runs from 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm on Tuesday 21 October, and it's free.
