Storytelling session on Celtic myths, part of the National Library of Scotland's members-only 'Members Connect' series.
Martin MacIntyre is taking over the National Library of Scotland on Thursday 22 October for a storytelling session called Meet the Gods, Creatures, and Heroes of Celtic Legend. It's an hour of Celtic myths told aloud, with the gods, creatures, and heroes of the legend taking centre stage. If you've ever wanted to get a proper handle on the figures that populate those old stories, this is a good place to start.
The session is part of the Library's Members Connect series, a programme of informal gatherings for members to connect with each other through the collections, the people, and the spaces of the building. Each session in the series focuses on a different theme, exploring the Library through collection highlights and behind-the-scenes insights, with room for activities and conversation. This one centres on Celtic myth, so you'll be hearing about the figures of that tradition rather than just reading about them in a book.
Because it's a Members Connect event, there's a bit of a catch: it's an exclusive programme for members, and you'll need a Library card to attend. If you're already a member, it's a straightforward way to spend an evening. If you aren't, you'll need to sort your membership first.
